What are the background of the organizers for Youth U.S. Space Camp?

 

Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (HKFEW) is a non-profit education organization established in 1975. We serve education workers and promote education in Hong Kong. Our president is former Legislative Counselor Hon. Mr. Yeung Yiu Chung. For details, please visit our website.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center® is established in 1965 by the State of Alabama, empowered by the U.S. Congress and supported by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). the U.S Space & Rocket Center® is the nation's leading hands-on space science museum. It located in Huntsville, Alabama, use space or aviation as a platform to excite and educate children ages 9 through 18, in the field of math, science and technology. Q2. How would you arrange the training session for the applicants as they are from ages 9 to 18?
 

We will divide the students into 2 groups according to their ages: Space Camp for students age 9 to 11, Space Academy for students age 12 to 18. Each group will receive different levels of training. We hope that all students will find the program fun and educationally challenging.

 

Q3. Other than the camp fee, is there any extra charges, such as entrance fee?
 

This fee includes airfares, taxes, insurance, meals, lodging, materials and activities. HOWEVER, US visa fee about HKD$1040 is not included.

 

Q4. When will the 2010 Youth U.S. Space Camp begin?
 

The 2010 Youth U.S. Space Camp starts from August 2 to August 18. For exact date and the content of program, please visit our timetable.

 

Q5. What impact does Space Camp have on the students who attend?
 

After attending Space Camp, almost 93% took more science course, particularly physics and chemistry. Almost 91% reported Space Camp inspired them to take more math, particularly calculus. 74% said they learned about careers at Space Camp . Nearly half said their Space Camp experience influenced their college major and 45% said their exeprience affected their career choice.
